A guide to choosing the right image sizes for your Zapnito site.
Profile pictures
Profile pictures should be 512 x 512 pixels. As with every image uploaded to Zapnito, there isn’t a limit on its size however if you do experience difficulties with uploading an image, we recommend that you try reducing the file size and re-uploading it.
For profile pictures in particular, you will have the option of rescaling it should it not be squared, so don’t worry if your profile picture is vertical or horizontal.
Content and room poster images
Content and room poster images should be at least 1280 x 960 pixels. They should be in a landscape orientation (horizontal) and can be in JPG or PNG format.
We recommend that you do not include text within the image itself as we cannot guarantee how it will appear when the image is resized for different devices. Any image added within a post will be automatically resized so there isn’t a limit on these images either.
How to make sure they are sized correctly
If you have PowerPoint, Keynote, or a similar application installed in your computer, please open it. The slide size of your new document should be set to 'Widescreen' (16:9). If you are using powerpoint, please confirm that this is the case in Design < Slide Size. If you are using Keynote, please check this configuration by clicking on the slide, navigating to 'Document' (in the top-right corner of the screen), and selecting 'Slide Size'.
Once your slides are set to the right size, add a colour or a high-quality image to the background of your presentation. You are now ready to replicate the steps shown in the attached documents, which you are welcome to download (available in both pdf and pptx format). The steps are also outlined below:
- Start with an empty slide
- Add a centre point to it
- Add vertical and horizontal limitations. These must surround the centre point symmetrically
- Add your image or logo within the set limits
- Remove the limits
- Test that the image fits well
Video dimensions
When uploading video content to Zapnito, we don't recommend any particular size. The video will be displayed in its natural size according to the dimensions of the source file and is not resized at all upon being uploaded to Zapnito.
